Tour of neuron-chip lab

In his research, Dr. Naweed Syed studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying nervous system development, brain plasticity, regeneration and degeneration. His lab also pioneered several neuron-chip interfacing technologies to monitor brain cell activities from cultured and intact brain slices in snail models. The 10 highschool students from the Syrian Refugee Community in Calgary will be able to get a hands-on activity at different stations in the lab to better understand the value of research and educational goals.
