International Astronomy Day

An annual event held around the world by amateur astronomers.  The purpose is to promote an interest in astronomy and science in general.  The event hosted by the OAOG every year consists of local amateurs setting up their telescopes to give the general public an opportunity to look at objects in the daytime and nighttime sky.  Our volunteers are happy to answer any questions about the hobby.  Typically we also have astronomy themed displays and hand-outs as well.  The event is free to attend and family friendly.
